OUR WORK IS DIRECTED BY TWO KEY OVERARCHING POLICIES
Nonpartisan Policy: We are non-partisan and never endorse candidates for office or political parties at any level of government, but always work on issues of concern to members and the public.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI): We are fully committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in principle and practice. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to the organization’s current and future success in engaging all individuals, households, communities, and policy makers in creating a more perfect democracy.
Positions
OUR ADVOCACY IS GROUNDED IN POSITIONS
Positions are developed through careful study and discussion and adopted by consensus. Once consensus is reached on a position, this position becomes the basis for future action. Positions are developed at the local, state and national levels and local and state positions and advocacy must be consistent with that of national.
