Sunday, July 4, 2010 11:00 a.m. (must be on site in advance) Tumwater Annual Fourth of July Parade. League members will have an entry in the parade and hand out voter information. Wednesday, July 14, 2010 All day and evening, July 14 through July 18 Lakefair Booth and Parade Lakefair Parade. The League of Women Voters will participate in the traditional Saturday night Lakefair parade and will also have a booth with voter information. Many volunteers are needed. Women's Equality Day showing of Iron Jawed Angels, a film starring Hillary Swank. August 26 is Women's Equality Day, the anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, giving women the right to vote. The League is celebrating with a banner across Capitol Way and a showing of Iron Jawed Angels, the story of how women worked to get the vote. Doors open at 5:00 p.m., seating will begin at 5:30, and the film and a panel discussion begin at 6:00.
Saturday, August 28, 2010 to be announced Rainier, WA Rainier Round-up Parade. League members will hand out voter information during this parade.
