The 2017 League of Women Voters of Washington Convention is being co-hosted with the League of Women Voters of Seattle-King County, under the shadow of the Space Needle in beautiful Seattle, Washington.
The Convention will be held Friday, June 2 – Sunday, June 4, with pre-convention activities on Thursday, June 1. There will a host of exciting opportunities for meeting members from other Leagues, education and training, or that perennial League favorite - sightseeing WHILE learning! You may also be interested in sitting in on some of the business meetings, while official delegates from the Thurston County League do work on your behalf.
The theme, “Democracy: Must be Present to Win!” captures the bold spirit of LWVWA moving into a new year with a refreshed focus on education and activism. You will come away with tools to come back to Thurston County and work within League to have a tremendous impact on our community.
Convention planners have taken into account the variety of work schedules and financial resources of League members and have come up with flexible attendance options. You may attend all of the programming, the dinners, the social events and caucuses as an interested League Member (observer), and if you have a great League prospect who is not yet a member, you can bring them, too. As well as a full weekend registration, there will be workshop passes and single event tickets so observers can enjoy the whole convention or just the specific events, speakers, or presentations.
